In this project students explored the world of the niche national brand. Seventh Generation is the leading U.S. marketer of safe and environmentally friendly household products. Students learned to analyze design in terms of appropriateness for the existing brand equity, and the differentiation from the competition. The goal was to reflect Seventh Generation’s market leadership position and long-standing brand equity in the “Green Product” category in North America. The requirement was to create a powerful visual, national brand presence. The exceptional examples below show how individual students redesigned the logo for a more memorable and ownable identity, and achieved a stronger emotional connection with the consumer via packaging.
